Title: project240z June 6 2009 She Runs! (Watch HD)
Published on: 6/9/2009 11:02:40 PM
Description: Watch this in HD So tonight was the first night the car successfully ran twice on the same day since the summer 2007. I've been battling starter issues and picked up a new starter tonight. This is the second run of the evening, just to record video and prove to the world that it does run!

Title: Starting the 240Z, Success, next time I'll get audio!
Published on: 5/28/2009 1:44:36 AM
Description: So last night Terec and I spent some time wrenching on the 240Z, we were unsuccessful at trying to get it to start and ended up draining the battery. So tonight after a charge I decided to try again. Success! I got it running twice and even managed to keep it running. A third time wasn't in the cars however as the starter was locked up, so I pulled it out and found one of the three screws that went missing from the previous starter 3 weeks ago. So with that I started cleaning up around the garage, I need to get the car up on the jack stands and try to locate the other two missing screws as I imagine they are still in the bell housing waiting to be chewed up. At the end of the video I started disassembling the old crank/block, why, because I felt like it, though I didn't get done before it was dinner time.

Title: Wiring up the engine and attempting to start
Published on: 4/25/2009 8:58:42 PM
Description: Spent the morning with friends trying to get the motor in the 240Z ready to attempt a start. We were successful in getting to the point of attempting to start it. Though we weren't successful in actually getting it started. I need to get the megasquirt software ready to go on the laptop so I can see what isn't working properly.

Title: Working on the 240Z on a weeknight?
Published on: 4/21/2009 11:44:19 PM
Description: I cant say Ive really put any effort into the Datsun on a weeknight in probably the past 20-22 months, tonight I spent a couple of hours in the garage working on a few things to get the motor ready to attempt to start it this weekend. I didnt get a lot done, but the things I did will save the time I would have had to spend on Saturday doing them. Ive mostly got the fan in place now, with 4 more bolts to put it onto the clutch. I put the single belt in place, and also hooked up the EDIS trigger on the 36-1 wheel for the megasquirt setup. I also put the throttlebody and the intake to the turbo back on the car. I put the battery onto the charger so that itll be ready to go Saturday. The more I mess with that thing the more I realize I need to get that moved to the back of the car soon after the car runs again, rather than having it sitting up in the engine bay taking up valuable room. Ill probably do a few more of these minor buttoning up items tomorrow and Thursday night, leaving for tasks like the radiator and coolant, along with other minor things, for Saturday when Dave and possibly Terec are over to assist.

Title: Project 240Z installing the engine and transmission
Published on: 4/19/2009 5:49:48 PM

This one is from a 78 280Z 2+2, L28E, with the manifold setup from the 83 L28ET that blew up in August 2007. Still a ways to go to get her started, but hopefully will attempt that next weekend.

Published on: 2/28/2009 7:05:23 PM
Description: Me working in the garage again. Hopefully next week the motor will go back together, and the week after it will go in the car. Notes: 1. Music is my first attempt at mixing some creative commons NIN audio tracks, it may suck, but I don't care ;) 2. I need to throw those damn jeans out, I only wear them in the garage, it could flood and I'd be okay.
